Ashtown To Host Food Industry Event
Ashtown Food Research Centre will play host to a 3 day food processing technology event from Oct 16th to 18th 2007 in conjunction with FAM, Stumabo and Boema. The three day event will be a mixture of seminars and demonstrations in both morning and afternoon sessions covering the following topics:
- One, two and three dimensional cutting machines with applications for slicing, dicing, and shredding of meat, vegetable, cheese, & potato
- Hygiene in Vegetable and Salad Handling, a growing area of interest
- Purée & Juices including Baby Food
- The Changing Needs for Cut Product in the Dairy & Meat Industries
- Aseptic Filling
- Steam Peeling Vegetables and Fruit
FAM are one of Europe’s premier manufacturers of cutting machines and feature Stumabo blades while also in attendance will be Boema the respected Italian processing machine manufacturers.
This event will be of particular interest to any companies involved in the processed foods sector.
Practical demonstrations and seminars will take place with experts on hand for advice.
During the event Teagasc, AFRC will be showcasing a new ‘Lean Manufacturing’ training course. This training course has been tailored for the food sector and aims to assist the food processor in identifying areas of energy saving and cost reduction. The course will introduce process efficiency techniques and demonstrate proven tools in the areas of Lean and Continuous Improvement.
Industry visitors will also have the opportunity of taking part in a Technical Needs survey being conducted by Teagasc, AFRC. This survey is being conducted to ensure that we continue to meet the technical needs of Irish food companies.
