Functional Foods
On-going trials on functional foods include the formulation of gluten-free breads (i.e. in this case the key ingredient gluten is not included)and also pasta with added inulin (a prebiotic) and vitamin C. Fishready-meals are also being used as a carrier of taurine (aids thecardiocascular system) and inulin.
