Understanding Requirements of ISO/22000 – Food Sector

ISO/22000, Food Safety Management Systems- requirements throughout the food chain is a standard, which specifies requirements for managing food safety. The standard is of benefit where a food business needs to demonstrate its ability to control food safety hazards and consistently provide safe food products, which meet both food safety regulations and customer requirements.

Who Should Attend?

Technical, production managers or those with responsibility for developing and implementing systems to meet the requirements of ISO/22000. It will be of interest to food regulatory inspectors and food sector consultants.

Course Content

This 2-day training workshop will address the following topics:

  • Overall requirements of ISO/22000
  • Food Safety Management controls
  • System development and implementation
  • System management and improvement
  • Identification of system non-conformances and corrective actions

Course Tutors

The training course will be delivered by trainers from Teagasc Ashtown Food Research Centre. All tutors have relevant qualifications and extensive experience of the operation of food safety and quality management systems in the food sector.

Assessment / Certification

Assessment is by means of a written examination and submission of a work related project on safety / quality system development / implementation. On successful completion of the assessment, a FETAC Certificate will be awarded.

Grants

Ashtown Food Research Centre, Teagasc is a FÁS registered training organisation and is recognised by Enterprise Ireland and other national organisations. Funding may be available for the course. Please contact us for details.

Customised Training

We can customise scheduled training programmes to suit individual needs or develop a new programme specifically for your company. Courses can be held at the Ashtown Food Research Centre, Teagasc, on-site, or at another location if preferred.

Consultancy

Independent auditing and consultancy services offered by the Ashtown Food Research Centre provide objective assessment of the adequacy and effective implementation of current food safety and quality management programmes.
