Horticulture Development Unit

The Horticultural Development Unit was established in 2005 as an integrated research and advisory unit. It has a staff complement of 28 and a budget allocation of €2.5 million/annum. The staff is grouped into four enterprise teams with support from colleagues in the Teagasc and private horticultural colleges.

  • Fruit Development Team
  • Nursery Stock Development Team
  • Mushroom Development Team
  • Vegetable Development Team

Each team developes and implements a programme of research, advisory and development activities for their respective work areas and in line with the goals of the Unit’s business plan and the Teagasc Statement of Strategy 2005-2007.
