New Dairying Research on Display at Teagasc Open Day

27 August, 2003

A national open day at the Teagasc Research Farm at Solohead, Co. Tipperary takes place next Tuesday, 2 September.

This is a unique opportunity for all dairy farmers to get information on new research in dairying, where the focus in recent years has been on low-cost production from grass.

Highlights on the day will include:

  • Producing 1,100 gallons/acre (12,300 litres/ha) on 90 units of nitrogen
  • Optimum timing of nitrogen application
  • Incorporating REPS into profitable dairy farming
  • Blueprints on establishing clover in pasture through broadcasting with fertiliser

The open day will run from 11am – 3pm. All are welcome.
