Exciting Career Opportunities in Agri-Sector

Teagasc are staging a series of Open Days at their colleges around the country during April to highlight the course opportunities provided by Teagasc in Agriculture, Horticulture, Horses, Forestry and related areas.

Speaking at the announcement of these Careers Days, Paddy Browne, Assistant Director, Training & Development in Teagasc said “Courses in Agriculture and Horticulture have changed radically. All courses are now nationally accredited with the opportunity to progress right up to University Degree level on 11 of these courses”.

“These career events will give career guidance teachers and students a unique opportunity to get fully updated on all new courses run by Teagasc” said Mr. Browne.

Continuing he said “As well as hearing the full story on all new courses in agriculture, horticulture, horses and forestry, participants at the careers days will also get information on the diverse range of career opportunities available to graduates. With the upgrading of Teagasc courses, there are new exciting career opportunities in agri-business and the amenity horticulture and forestry areas”.

“The Career Days will also include guided tours of the teaching and recreational facilities and visits to the colleges’ modern farming and horticultural enterprises. There will also be opportunities to talk to teaching staff and educational experts as well as meeting students currently attending courses”, concluded Paddy Browne.
