Teagasc Food Research Gets Accreditation
Moorepark Technology Ltd. (MTL), a subsidiary of Teagasc, which provides pilot plant services to the food industry has received accreditation to IS 343. The accreditation, which was presented by the Minister for Agriculture and Food, Mary Coughlan T.D., to-day (Friday 6 May) is the first such accreditation for a Research & Development Service Company in Ireland.
Speaking at the award ceremony, Dr. Liam Donnelly, Director of Operations, Food Research said, the accreditation is a milestone in Moorepark Technology s progress in achieving the highest standards in services to the food sector in Ireland and abroad .
Continuing, he said the company is at the front end of product and process innovation and has contributed to many successful commercial developments since it s establishment over ten years ago . Dr. Donnelly added that Moorepark Technology Ltd. is now recognised as a unique model for linking public research to industry.
Continuing, Dr. Donnelly said a key feature of the MTL has been it s commitment to customer care a fact that has been reflected in the priorities for new investments in the company s facilities over the years. MTL now lists among it s customers the most progressive of companies in the food, food ingredients and nutritional sectors and it is obliged to meet the high expectation of these companies in all aspects of it s services .
