Teagasc to Appoint New Head of Public Relations

Mr. Larry O'Loughlin who has been Acting Head of Public Relations in Teagasc since November 2004 is returning to a management role in the Advisory Directorate.

Following the relocation of the Teagasc Head Office from Dublin to Carlow, Larry agreed to act as Head of Public Relations for a 12 month period which will end in November 2005. Mr. Jim Flanagan, Director of Teagasc, thanked Larry for his work over the period and noted in particular his success in rebuilding the Public Relations Department following the retirement of many staff.

Larry is a former President of the Agricultural Science Association and is currently a member of the Advisory Board of Development Co-operation Ireland and is Vice Chairman of Self Help International.

The position of Head of Public Relations for Teagasc will now be advertised and filled over the coming weeks.
