The Future of Dairying in Kerry?
A major dairy conference entitled “Dairying in a ‘Free’ Market Environment”, organised by Kerry Agribusiness and Teagasc, will address dairy market outlook and securing a future in dairying – The Kerry Way - on Wednesday, 21 February 2007 at the Ballyroe Heights Hotel, Ardfert Road, Tralee, County Kerry.
The conference will cover a range of issues including: nutrient management on dairy farms under the new nitrates regulations; advice on planning the fertiliser programme for the current year and the latest results from monitor farms A presentation on investment decisions to secure the dairy farmer’s future should be of great interest to farm families at a crossroad at this time.
The key note speaker at the conference will be Hugh Friel, chief executive of the Kerry Group. Other speakers include: Professor Gerry Boyle, Associate, FGS; Ger Courtney, Kerry Agribusiness/Teagasc and Matt Ryan, Dairy Programme Manager, Teagasc.
