Update on Appointment of Teagasc Director
The Teagasc Authority received an update on the process to appoint a new Director of the organisation at its meeting in Oak Park today, Wednesday, 4 April 2007. The chairman, Dr Tom O’ Dwyer, on behalf of the interview board, reported to the Teagasc Authority that they were not in a position, at this time, to recommend a name to the Authority for approval.
The interview board assessed the applicants and one candidate was selected. However, this candidate subsequently withdrew for personal/timing reasons.
The Teagasc Authority, on the advice of the interview board, decided to continue its search for a new director. As part of that process, the position will be advertised again with the services of the existing consultants, and the assistance of the interview board.
