Teagasc - The Irish Agriculture and Food Development Authority

Management Data for Farm Planning (2002)

This annual Teagasc publication provides budgets and guideline gross margins for all livestock farming systems, crop production systems, poultry, horticulture and a wide range of alternative and supplementary enterprises.

It also contains useful information on taxation, social welfare, credit and a wide range of farm investment grant-aid schemes.

The material has been brought together by enterprise and financial management specialists across the full spectrum of Teagasc's advisory services.

The publication has become an important source of information for advisers, teachers, farm planners, consultants, lending institutions and individuals involved in supplying inputs and services to the farming sector.

The suitability of the budgets as a specific income indicator for a particular year will vary from enterprise to enterprise. Budgeted figures can closely reflect the outturn in the case of an enterprise subject to a well-defined market regime such a dairying, but may be considerably less dependable in the case of short term cattle systems, pigs and potatoes.
